All Praise is for Allah who provided me with the opportunity of creating an audio version of the Holy Quran in English. This audio version has been based on translations of the Holy verses by Abdullah Yusuf Ali (may Allah (SWT) be pleased with him), who is a prominent Islamic scholar.
It is necessary for Muslims to understand the true teachings of Quran, which can only be done by studying the Holy Book. Allah has provided us with a fountain of knowledge in the form of this Glorious Book. It is necessary for every Muslim to thoroughly read and understand its teachings and to apply it in his/her life.
Due to the diverse nature of the Muslim world, many Muslims do not understand the Arabic language, which makes it difficult for them to comprehend the true meaning of the Holy verses. This means that while they might learn to recite the Quran, they cannot understand the meaning of the given commandments. A solution to this problem is to benefit from the translated versions which are available in many languages, which includes English.
As English is an international language, the translated versions of Quran in English can be more widely beneficial for a large number of people. This is why we have compiled an audio version of the Holy Quran.
The Quran in English project has been started to disseminate the light of the Holy Book to people who may have problems in comprehending Arabic and can understand the English language.
Muslims and non-Muslims can download audio Quran to understand the glorious teachings of Islam. This can be not only helpful for people who wish to learn the Holy scripture on flexible timings (e.g. during office breaks, at home, during driving, etc) but also for individuals who are unable to read the textual version of the Quran due to eye-sight problems.
I am very much thankful to my Almighty Allah (SWT) for making me capable to record Holy Quran in English. An eminent scholar, Abdullah Yusuf Ali translated it and the Last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), may Almighty Allah (SWT) be pleased with him. I tried my level best to interpret the translation of the Holy Quran by using my all best skills and abilities with all the passion and feeling I could muster.
It is necessary for all Muslims to understand the Holy Book so that we can tell others about the exact meaning of the Holy verses. I would like to thank my entire family, my mother, wife and three daughters for their continuous support, feedback, encouragement and prayers. Many thanks to Mr. Rab Nawaz for his support, it was I think April 2010 when we met in Medina and I recited Surah Yaseen overlooking Haram Sharif and I completed this recording. All praise is due to Allah (SWT).
